What changes the price?
The price depends on the appliance you choose and how much your teeth and bite need to move. A limited aligner case moves a few teeth; a comprehensive case corrects the whole arch and bite.
Before anything starts you receive a written treatment plan with the full cost, so there are no surprises. Ask the team what the plan includes, such as adjustment visits and retainers.
Invisalign is quoted separately after your consultation and 3D scan.

Step by step
How braces treatment works
Consultation
Dr. Mazin checks your teeth and bite, takes the X-rays and photos needed, and explains your options.
Written plan and price
You get a written plan with the cost, and choose to pay in cash or in instalments.
Fitting day
Brackets are bonded to your teeth and the wire is placed, in one visit.
Adjustment visits
About every 4–8 weeks the wire is adjusted and progress is checked.
Removal and retainers
The braces come off and retainers hold your teeth in their new position.
What the first week feels like
Teeth usually feel sore for a few days after fitting and after each adjustment, then settle. Soft food helps, orthodontic wax stops brackets rubbing your cheeks, and a simple painkiller can be taken as advised. If a wire pokes or a bracket comes loose, call or WhatsApp the clinic.

Who braces are for
Children, teens and adults
- Children, from age 7An orthodontic check by age 7 spots problems early. Most children only need monitoring at that age; a few benefit from early treatment.
- TeensThe most common time for full braces, once most permanent teeth have come through.
- AdultsTeeth move at any age. Adult treatment is planned around gum health and existing crowns or fillings.
Aftercare
Living with braces
Brushing and cleaning
Brush after every meal and clean around each bracket with an interdental brush. Plaque left around brackets can mark the enamel, so a hygiene visit during treatment is worth it.
Food to avoid
Hard, sticky and very chewy food (nuts, hard sweets, toffee, chewing gum) can bend wires or loosen brackets. Cut firm food such as apples into small pieces.
If something breaks
A loose bracket or a poking wire is not an emergency, but call or WhatsApp us so we can fix it before it slows treatment. Orthodontic wax covers sharp spots in the meantime.
Retainers after braces
Teeth tend to drift back. A thin wire bonded behind the front teeth and/or a clear night retainer keeps the result. Wear them exactly as prescribed, long-term.
Common questions
Braces in Muscat: your questions
How much do braces cost in Muscat?
At Finland Dental Center in Qurum, metal braces cost OMR500 if you pay in cash, or OMR650 in total if you pay in instalments (OMR150 first, then OMR50 a month for 10 months). Ceramic braces cost OMR900 – 1200, and clear aligners OMR900 – 1400 for a limited case or OMR1400 – 2200 for a comprehensive case. You get a written estimate after the consultation.
Can I pay for braces in monthly instalments?
Yes. The clinic’s own braces plan is OMR650 in total: OMR150 on the day the braces are fitted, then OMR50 a month for 10 months. It is signed directly with the clinic, needs a valid Omani ID or resident card, and can be settled early without penalty. Paying in cash costs OMR500.
How long does braces treatment take?
Most treatments take 6–24 months. Limited cases that move a few teeth take about 6–10 months; comprehensive cases that correct the whole bite usually take 14–24 months. Retainers are then worn long-term to keep the result.
Do braces hurt?
Fitting braces does not hurt. Teeth usually feel sore for a few days after fitting and after each adjustment, then settle. Soft food, orthodontic wax and a simple painkiller taken as advised help in the first days.
What is the best age for braces?
We recommend a first orthodontic check by age 7, when early problems can be spotted. Most children only need monitoring at that age. Full braces are most common in the teenage years, once most permanent teeth are in, and adults can have braces at any age.
Am I too old for braces?
No. Teeth move at any age as long as the gums and bone are healthy. Adult treatment is planned around gum health and existing dental work, and retainers matter even more afterwards. Ceramic braces and clear aligners are popular with adults because they show less.
Metal or ceramic braces: what is the difference?
Both work the same way. Metal braces are the most robust option and suit every case, at OMR500 cash or OMR650 in instalments. Ceramic braces use tooth-coloured brackets that show less and cost OMR900 – 1200.
Braces or Invisalign: which is better?
For mild to moderate crowding in adults, Invisalign and other clear aligners work well, but they must be worn 20–22 hours a day. For severe crowding, large bite corrections, impacted teeth or children who need growth guidance, braces are often the better and cheaper choice. Dr. Mazin advises which suits you at the consultation.
Does insurance cover braces in Oman?
Most health insurance policies in Oman exclude adult orthodontics or cap it at a low amount. Orthodontics for children is sometimes covered on premium plans. Send us your policy details and we will check what is included.
How often do I need to visit during treatment?
With braces, adjustment visits are usually every 4–8 weeks. Each visit is short: the wire is adjusted and progress is checked.
Who will do my braces?
Dr. Mazin Al Mourani, the clinic’s lead orthodontist. He holds the Syrian Board in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, has more than 12 years in orthodontics, is an Invisalign Certified Provider and a member of the World Federation of Orthodontists.
Do I need a retainer after braces?
Yes. Teeth tend to drift back after braces come off. A thin bonded wire behind the front teeth and/or a clear retainer worn at night keeps the result, and should be worn long-term as prescribed.
