How it works

How Invisalign treatment works

  1. Consultation and 3D scan

Dr. Mazin checks your teeth, bite and gums, and records your teeth for planning.

  2. Digital plan

Your tooth movement is planned stage by stage, so you see the expected result before you start. You get the price in writing.

  3. A new set every 1–2 weeks

You wear each set of clear trays 20–22 hours a day, then move to the next.

  4. Check-ups and retainers

Progress checks about every 6–8 weeks. When teeth are in place, retainers keep them there.

Attachments, elastics and IPR, explained

Attachments are small tooth-coloured bumps bonded to some teeth so the trays can grip and turn them. They are removed at the end.

Elastics (small rubber bands) are sometimes worn between the upper and lower trays to correct the bite.

IPR (interproximal reduction) is a fine polish between some teeth to make a fraction of a millimetre of space, when the plan needs it.

Aligners or braces

Invisalign vs braces

Both straighten teeth well. The right one depends on your case and on how reliably you can wear aligners.

When braces are the better choice

Severe crowding, large bite corrections, impacted teeth and children who need growth guidance are often treated better, and for less, with braces. Braces are also faster for anyone who cannot keep aligners in for 20–22 hours a day, because they work without depending on you.

Who it suits

Is Invisalign right for you?

  • AdultsThe most common Invisalign patients: crowding, gaps or teeth that moved back after old braces.
  • TeensSuitable once most permanent teeth are in, if they will wear the trays 20–22 hours a day.
  • Not ideal forSevere crowding, large bite problems, impacted teeth or young children still growing. Braces usually do better.

Day to day

Living with aligners

Eating and drinking

Take the trays out to eat and for any drink except plain water, then brush or rinse before putting them back. Hot or sugary drinks with trays in can warp the plastic and trap sugar against teeth.

Cleaning the trays

Rinse the trays in cool water and brush them gently twice a day. Hot water can bend them. Keep them in their case when they are out of your mouth.

Lost or broken tray

Call or WhatsApp the clinic. Usually you move to the next set early or go back to the previous one until a replacement is ready. Do not wait without wearing anything.

After treatment

Teeth tend to drift back. Retainers, worn as prescribed and long-term, keep the result.

Common questions

Invisalign in Oman: your questions

How much does Invisalign cost in Oman?

At Finland Dental Center in Qurum, clear aligner treatment costs OMR900 – 1400 for a limited case and OMR1400 – 2200 for a comprehensive case. The Invisalign brand is quoted in writing after your consultation and 3D scan, because the price depends on how many aligner stages your teeth need.

Is Finland Dental Center an Invisalign provider?

Yes. Invisalign treatment is planned by Dr. Mazin Al Mourani, the clinic’s lead orthodontist, who is an Invisalign Certified Provider and holds an Advanced Clear Aligner Certification and the Syrian Board in Orthodontics.

How many hours a day do I have to wear Invisalign?

20–22 hours a day. Take the aligners out only to eat, to drink anything other than water, and to brush. Wearing them less slows treatment or stops teeth moving as planned.

How long does Invisalign take?

About 6–10 months for a limited case and around 14–24 months for a comprehensive case. You change to a new set of aligners every 1–2 weeks and have a check-up about every 6–8 weeks.

Can I eat and drink with aligners in?

Only plain water. Remove the aligners for meals and for other drinks, then brush or rinse before putting them back, so food and sugar are not trapped against your teeth.

Does Invisalign hurt?

Most people feel pressure or mild soreness for a day or two when they start a new set of aligners. It is usually milder than the soreness after braces adjustments.

Is Invisalign as effective as braces?

For mild to moderate crowding and spacing, yes, when the aligners are worn 20–22 hours a day. For severe crowding, large bite corrections, impacted teeth or children who need growth guidance, braces are often the better and cheaper option.

Can teenagers have Invisalign?

Yes, once most permanent teeth have come through and if the teenager will reliably wear the aligners 20–22 hours a day. Younger children who still need growth guidance are usually better treated with other appliances.

Can I pay for Invisalign in instalments?

Yes, through Tajeer Finance (up to 24 monthly instalments for larger cases) or Qpay (4 monthly instalments within the limit set in your Qpay app). The clinic’s own 11-payment plan is for metal braces only.

Is Invisalign different from other clear aligners?

All clear aligners move teeth with a series of trays. Brands differ in their plastic, planning software and attachment systems. The orthodontist’s planning matters more than the brand, and Dr. Mazin will explain which system suits your case.

What happens after Invisalign treatment?

You wear retainers to stop the teeth drifting back. They are part of the treatment, worn as prescribed and long-term.
