Full Mouth Reconstruction in Oman: What It Is, Who Needs It, and What It Costs

Full mouth reconstruction isn’t cosmetic dentistry writ large. It’s a staged rehabilitation for people who’ve lost significant tooth structure to wear, disease, or trauma. Here’s how it’s planned, what it involves, and a realistic OMR price range.

In short

It is not a veneer makeover. It’s the systematic rebuilding of function, occlusion, and aesthetics across most or all teeth, usually involving a mix of crowns, implants, bridges, and sometimes orthodontics. Typical candidates: severe tooth wear from decades of grinding, multiple failing old crowns, advanced gum-disease cases after periodontal stabilisation, or major trauma. The goal is restoring a stable bite that will last 15+ years, not a photogenic smile for Instagram.

What "full mouth reconstruction" actually means

It is not a veneer makeover. It’s the systematic rebuilding of function, occlusion, and aesthetics across most or all teeth, usually involving a mix of crowns, implants, bridges, and sometimes orthodontics. Typical candidates: severe tooth wear from decades of grinding, multiple failing old crowns, advanced gum-disease cases after periodontal stabilisation, or major trauma. The goal is restoring a stable bite that will last 15+ years, not a photogenic smile for Instagram.

The diagnostic phase — months 0 to 2

Before any drilling, a thorough diagnostic workup is essential: full X-ray series + CBCT, impressions or digital scans of both arches, a facebow record capturing jaw movement, photos, and a mounted study-cast analysis. From this we build a diagnostic wax-up — a physical or digital preview of the end result — which drives every subsequent decision. Clinics that skip this stage and "just start fixing" produce mediocre outcomes for big money.

Staging — treatment happens in phases, not one marathon

Typical staging: (1) periodontal therapy — no restorations go on unstable gums; (2) extractions of hopeless teeth; (3) implant placements with 3–6 month healing; (4) temporary restorations testing the new bite; (5) final crowns and bridges once the bite is verified. Total duration is usually 6–18 months. Expect to live with interim restorations for extended periods. Clinicians who promise "all done in 3 visits" are cutting corners.

The price range that is actually defensible

A realistic full-mouth reconstruction in Muscat ranges OMR 4,000 at the low end (6–8 crowns, no implants, no bone grafting) to OMR 12,000+ on the complex end (4–6 implants, full-arch zirconia bridges, sinus lifts, bone grafts). A single-arch full-arch implant-supported restoration (All-on-4 style) alone is OMR 2,600–4,500. Anyone quoting OMR 1,500 for "full mouth" is using low-tier lab materials on teeth that needed implants. Anyone quoting OMR 20,000 is either the best in the GCC or adding margin that isn’t justified.

How we do it differently

We won’t quote a number before the diagnostic phase is complete — anyone who quotes on day one is guessing. We charge the diagnostic phase separately (OMR 150–250) and if you decide not to proceed, you leave with your wax-up, X-rays, and plan to use elsewhere. The written treatment plan lists every procedure, material, and fee before any permanent work starts. We cap payment milestones at each stage — you never prepay the full sum, and you can pause between phases.
